Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy

EBOO

What is EBOO?

Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation, or EBOO, is mainly used in treating toxicity and chronic illnesses. Despite the high efficiency of major autohemotherapy (MAHT), also known as a 10-pass, they do not always provide the desired therapeutic effect, particularly in the treatment of infectious diseases for which it is desirable to subject a patient’s blood, as much as possible, to the treatment by ozone. An alternative method is Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation – Ozonation (EBOO). The method combines the process of blood autotransfusion and its ozonation-oxygenation in the external circuit. Such an approach theoretically allows to ozonate up to half of the circulating blood volume in a single procedure.

The International Society of Blood Purification recognizes EBOO as a method that can reduce viral load in patients with chronic hepatitis. A clinical trial has shown that the EBOO procedure was more effective in the treatment of peripheral artery disease than prostacyclin. In some studies, EBOO has shown clinical effectiveness: necrotizing fasciitis, severe peripheral arterial disease, coronary disease, cholesterol embolism, severe dyslipidemia, Madelung disease, and sudden deafness of vascular origin. There have been a number of cardiac surgeries with cardio-pulmonary bypass that have used EBOO during the operation.

EBOO

EBOO treatments improves blood flow, cellular healing and oxygen utilization. There are clinical studies that suggest that ozone therapy is able to activate an immune response to infections. It also improves the utilization of oxygen within the cells which reduces ischemia in cardiovascular diseases.

What to expect during an EBOO session?

During an EBOO treatment, many patients feel relaxed and many sleep during their treatment. Two IV lines are needed for the procedure, one in each arm. One IV line is used to draw up the patient’s blood (usually dark and poorly oxygenated) where it is pumped into a filter that removes toxins, viruses, bacteria, parasites,  fungus, lipids, and heavy metals. The blood is then ozonated and oxygenated (bright red), then is returned to the patient via the other IV line. This procedure is a continuous and closed circuit that lasts about 1 hour. Many patients take a nap after EBOO and feel great the next day. For chronic conditions, EBOO is recommended weekly for 3 weeks and repeated twice a year.

What are the benefits of EBOO?

  • Improves blood circulation and enhances vasodilation (increases nitric oxide)
  • Increases oxygen utilization (better absorption by the cells)
  • Improves and modulates the immune system
  • Increases cellular metabolism and increases ATP production (increased energy)
  • Removes and reduces lipids naturally (including plaques in arteries)
  • Reduces and eliminates toxins by enhancing liver function efficiency
  • Filters out toxins
  • Restores and balances the gut microbiome
  • Enhances and stimulates anti-inflammatory effects
  • Effective antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic, and antifungal
  • Stimulates the release of growth factors and other mediators to re-active the immune system and reduce ischemia in vascular patients
  • Has been reported to kill cancer cells

Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation

What conditions can be treated with MAH?

For over a century, this form of ozone therapy has effectively and safely been utilized as a part of an overall treatment plan for:

How many treatments are needed?

The recommended number of treatments is three EBOO, once a week, twice a year. However, a personalized treatment plan will be discussed during your initial consultation.
